Funeral for Charles Clayton Parker, 82, of Birmingham was Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Mr. Parker died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. He was retired from Jim Dandy Company where he worked in quality control. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who participated in the liberation of France during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Anthony Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Long Parker of Birmingham; a son, Steve Parker of Birmingham; a daughter, Linda Hunt of Michigan; a brother, J. D. Parker of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Evelyn Winkles of Gladwin, Mich. and Christine Fields of Haysi, Va.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family members and friends were pallbearers.
