It's Depot Days time

Hartselle's 27th annual Depot Days will get under way Sunday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. with a non-denominational Community Worship Service at First United Methodist Church. Other weekday activities to follow include "Down Memory Lane" Monday, Sept. 10, at 6:30 p.m., a golf tournament Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 1:30 p.m. and Music in the Park Thursday, Sept.13 at 6:30 p.m..
The week-long observance will conclude Saturday, Sept. 15, with a carnival-like festival in downtown Hartselle. It will feature a 5K run, car, truck and motorcycle show, antique tractor and gasoline engine show, live stage entertainment and a variety of arts and crafts exhibitors, food vendors and kids rides. Entertainment will take place all day on two stages, the E.A.R.T.H. Park Stage and Hartselle Enquirer Stage. Events will culminate with a street dance featuring "Natchez Trace" on the Enquirer Stage.
The community worship service, sponsored by Hartselle Ministerial Association, will feature Billy Coleman as guest speaker. He is head football coach at Brewer High School and a Christian book author. The sponsor will take up a love offering to help fund its ongoing ministry to transients.
Hartselle Ministerial Association will spotlight Hartselle civic clubs in its "Down Memory Lane" program at Hartselle Fine Arts Center (old F.E.Burleson Elementary School). Displays centered around club memorabilia will be open for public viewing at 6:30 and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Current club members of Rotary, Civitan, Kiwanis and Lions as well as former members will be recognized.
The Depot Days Golf Classic will be held at Quail Creek Golf Resort. The event includes lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. All golfer are invited to participate.
Music in the Park will feature Hartselle High School choral students.
No admission will be charged at any of these events.
