Man accused of fruit stand robbery
By Staff
A Huntsville man is accused of making off with some produce and cash.
James Michael Williams, 43, of 1253 Hobbs Island Road in Huntsville is charged with robbery in the third degree.
The charges follow an Aug. 31 report of a robbery at Highway 36 and Talucah Road. Charles Preston Walling sells produce at that intersection. Walling said Williams robbed him of $10, a box of tomatoes, a watermelon and half a box of peaches. Williams claimed Walling owed him $40 and the items were taken as repayment. Walling said that wasn't true.
Williams was taken to the Morgan County Jail on $1,500 bond.
