Music, rides and food part of fair offerings

A lineup of fun-filled entertainment featuring popular bluegrass, country, gospel and pop music stars, championship wrestling and a midway filled with various rides and prize games will be offered at the Morgan County Fair Thursday, Sept. 20, through Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Decatur.
Fair goers will also be able to view a wide variety of individual agricultural exhibits and lamb, goat and heifer shows.
Live entertainment will be offered in the entertainment tent on most evenings. Among those booked for performances are Natchez Trace, DA Ray and Friends Bluegrass Band, Square One, Jeff Whitlow and the Old Barn Band, Spiritual Harmoneers, Crosswalk Bluegrass Gospel, Dollar Mountain Bluegrass and Free Indeed. Alabama Championship Wrestling will take center stage on Sept. 21 and 25.
The lineup will include featured all-stars such as the World's Greatest Midget, Lash Larue, Tommy "Wildfire: Rich "Bambi" Majors and others. Special events will include a Miss and Master Morgan County Fair Pageant Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m., free admission for military personnel and several local industries Tuesday, Sept. 25 and a new car giveaway Saturday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, noon on Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23. Admission is $5 for adults and teens, $3 for children six to 12, and no charge for children under six. Parking is free.
