Salvation Army sets Christmas signup

The Salvation Army will be assisting low-income families with food for Christmas dinner and/or toys for children 13-years-old and younger again this year, according to Major David C. Singletary, corps officer.
Applications for the Christmas Assistance Program will be taken Monday through Friday, Oct. 8-12, from 9 a.m. to noon. The signup will take place in the Salvation Army gymnasium at 114 14th Street in Decatur. Applicants may include couples, single heads of households and senior citizens.
Applications must be made in person by the head of the household (or the wife) and only one application per dwelling will be considered, and will include all residents in the house.
