Somerville man charged with theft

A Somerville man is charged with theft of property after allegedly stealing an air conditioning unit from an Eva home.
Brandon Michael Jones, 27, of Somerville is charged with theft of property in the first degree. He allegedly stole the air conditioning unit belonging to Marcus Woodall of 1170 Eva Road. Jones allegedly told Morgan County Sheriff's Investigators he stole the unit in order to sell it for scrap metal. Deputies said he later admitted to selling the unit for $50, $12 of which he still had.
Jones was taken to Morgan County Jail on $1,500 bond. The unnamed scrap yard is still under investigation.
