Thrasher, Shelton exchange vows
Tina Lynne Thrasher of Hartselle and Weston Durand Shelton of Hartselle were wed July 28, 2007 at McKendree United Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Lynn and Valerie Thrasher of Falkville. The groom is the son of Derrell and Beth Shelton of Hartselle.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride chose a formal gown of ivory silk organza and satin. The strapless gown was fashioned with a heavily embellished molded bodice and an entwined pearl rope edged the modified sweetheart d/colletage'. The natural waistline was emphasized by shirring to the side and featured a beaded motif. The soft A-line Princess skirt was adorned with beaded medallions and swept to a semi-cathedral length train. Her veil of imported French tulle' was rimmed with a silver rolled edged and detailed with miniature seed pearls.
It was held by a miniature bridal bandeau of silver and pearls.
Mary Breeze of Mayslick, Ky. was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lesley Wiglesworth of Louisville Ky.; Jill Abney of Berea, Ky.; Whitney Griffin, sister of groom, of Franklin; Caroline Partlow, junior bridesmaid, niece of the groom, of Hartselle; and Nina Halbrooks of Hartselle.
The groom's father was bestman. Groomsmen were William Partlow, brother of groom, of Hartselle; Clint Thrasher, brother of bride, of Falkville; Ronnie Wade of Arley; Tony Black of Cullman; and Scott Miller of Vinemont.
Program attendants were Hayden and Ethan Partlow of Hartselle, nephews of groom.
Ringbearers were Sam and Jake Griffin of Franklin, nephews of groom.
Wedding music as provided by violinist Penny Adair of Cullman. Scripture reading was provided by Ruby Nethery, grandmother of the bride, and Peggy Durand, grandmother of the groom.
The reception was held at Twin Oaks Manor in Danville. Reception assistants were Darwin and Catherine Halbrooks. Wedding director was Frances Rowe. Melissa Carter of Nashville served at the register gift table. Bird seed was handed out by Hayden and Ethan Partlow.
The couple enjoyed a wedding trip to Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii. They now reside in Hartselle.

Emerson, Barry exchange vows
Leah Beth Emerson of Hartselle and Brendan James Barry of Birmingham were wed Aug. 11, 2007, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Emerson of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Barry of St. Louis, Mo.
The service was led by Rev. Stephen Kenny of Memphis, Tenn. Greeters were Dr. and Mrs. Tim Bachmann of Madison. Scripture reader was Barry J. Pike of Hartselle.
The altar was decorated with two sprays of mixed flowers including green hydrangea, white Casablanca lilies, snaps, stock, and white roses with green hypericum berries and Belles of Ireland; pew markers were small bouquets of Casablanca lilies, white stock and Italian ruscus.

The bride chose a formal gown of ivory slipper satin accented with re-embroidered schiffli lace. The gown was fashioned with a molded bodice overlaid with lace, and a deep V'd neckline and back. Delicate embroidery in a rich mocha color detailed the lace. The elongated waist was emphasized by a satin mocha ribbon worn in a Chinese love knot at the natural waist, held by a rhinestone brooch in the back. The soft skirt of satin featured pinched tufts and swept to a chapel train. The veil of imported French tulle' was edged with lace and held by a handcrafted bridal spray of freshwater pearls and miniature rhinestones. The bride's bouquet was a nosegay of white hydrangea and stephanotis centered with pearls, the stems tied with satin and pearl ribbon. The pearl necklace the bride wore was a gift from the groom's grandmother, who received it on her wedding day as a gift from the groom's grandfather. The bride also carried a crystal rosary.
Matron of honor was Deidre Vaughn Emerson of Nashville, Tenn.
Maid of honor was Amanda Valentine Corwith of Austin, Texas.
Bridesmaids were Bethany Spikings Alford of Hoover; Jennifer Jayne Barry, sister of the groom, of St. Louis, Mo; Shelley Ann Flenniken of Baltimore, Md.; Aisha June Johnson of Atlanta, Ga.; Bonnie Marie Pike of Hartselle.
The bridesmaids wore taupe satin tea length dresses. The waist featured a wide ivory band that extended into long sashes in the back. They carried nosegays of mixed flowers including blue hydrangea, Sweet Unique roses, purple freesia, and green hypericum berries.
The stems were tied with satin ribbon.
Elise Ann Bozzi, Sydney Marie Bozzi, and Susan McGinn Watson, all of the St. Louis area, and Julianna Rose Pike of Hartselle presented the Gifts for Communion.
Best man was Patrick Andrew Barry of St. Louis, Mo., brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Matthew Joel Emerson, brother of the bride of Nashville, Tenn.;
Ryne Patrick Linsley of Auburn; Matthew Brian Pace of Brooklyn, NY; Mark Dean McWhorter of Birmingham; Matthew Raymond Radant of Collierville, Tenn; Gordon L. Smith, III, of Auburn; and Matthew Abraham Zahand of Houston, Texas.
Groomsmen served as ushers.
Music was provided by Cheri Poole, flutist and vocalist and Marie Kim, pianist and organist.
The reception was catered by Nonna's II of Vestavia Hills.
The wedding cake was centered on a round table covered in an ivory lace tablecloth. The four-tiered cake was square in shape, with French vanilla icing. The layers were decorated with taupe satin ribbon and scrollwork and it was topped with a white hydrangea and a metal script "B".
Auburn shakers, the handles inscribed with the bride's and groom's names and wedding date, were given out at the reception. The bride and groom were given an Auburn send off as guests waved the shakers to the Auburn fight song.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. They now reside in Birmingham.

Lambert, Garnett to wed
The engagement of Jessica Elizabeth Lambert and Andrew Garnett, both residents of Trussville, has been announced.
The future bride is the daughter of Hugh and Robin Cloer of Trussville and the late Allen L. Lambert of Birmingham. She is currently a student at Samford University and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.
The future groom is the son of Richard and Carol Garnett of Trussville. He will graduate from Samford University in December and pursue further studies in Seminary. The wedding is planned for August 2008.
Maines, Garrison to wed
Ted and Liz Maines of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Maines, to James Garrison, son of Bob and Roxey Garrison of Falkville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Erma Jean Maines of Cullman and the late Bud and Odell Roberts. She is a 2000 graduate of Fairview High School and is employed as a dispatcher with the Cullman County Sheriff's Office.
The future groom is the grandson of the late William and Geneva Garrison and the late Dorothy and Sam Champion.
He is a 2002 graduate of Falkville High School and is employed with Falkville Wood Treatment.
The wedding is planned for Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Falkville.
Robinson, Vest to wed
Jeff Robinson of Gadsden announces the engagement of his daughter, Emily Lauren Robinson, to Tyler Ferrell Vest, son of Ferrell and Beth Vest of Hartselle. The future bride is also the daughter of the late Karen Robinson.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Edsel and Virginia Williams of Rainbow City, the late Robert Brewster of Rainbow City and the late Beck and Edith Robinson of Gadsden.
A 2004 graduate of Westbrook Christian School, she is currently a senior at the University of Alabama majoring in biology.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Dewey Vest and Dorothy Wright of Hartselle, Odis Brown of Jacksonville and the late Edna Brown of Jacksonville.
A 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School, he is a 2006 graduate of the University of Alabama. He is a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, currently stationed in Ft. Benning, Ga. He is a recent Ranger School graduate.
The wedding is planned for Nov. 10, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Gadsden.
Suggs, Brackin to wed
Dave and Roxie Young of Danville and Jeff and Peggy Suggs of Courtland announce the engagement of their daughter, April Suggs, to Adam Brackin, son of Dennis and Joanna Brackin of Courtland.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Lawanna Pitts and the late Wesley Pitts Jr. of Moulton, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hacker of Hartselle, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Suggs of San Antonio, Tex. and Vada Suggs of San Antonio, Tex. A 2003 graduate of Danville High School, she is a graduate of the University of North Alabama where she received a bachelor's degree in social work.
The future groom is the grandson of Alice Mae Brackin and the late William Brackin of Courtland and Jackie and Bobbie Reding of Courtland. A 1999 graduate of Hatton High School, he is a graduate of Northwest Shoals Community College.
The wedding is planned for Jan. 19, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Decatur.
