Carolyn Faye Jett Hames

Funeral for Carolyn Faye Jeff Hames, 61, of Hartselle was Monday, Oct. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at the Decatur Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop Royce Alsup conducting and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Valley Springs Cemetery in Cullman County.
Mrs. Hames died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at her residence. She was born April 4, 1946, in Lawrence County to George Jett and Rosa Gray Jett. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jackie Don Jett and two sisters, Mildred Jett Shelton and Gertrude Jett Polk.
A graduate of Decatur High School, she received a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a master's degree from Alabama A&M University and recently obtained a Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law. She managed the law offices of Hames &Sahurie, attorneys at law, as well and Hames Marina and RV Park.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Randy A. Hames of Hartselle; five daughters, Christi Dolbeer and husband Barry of Hartselle; Angela Sahurie and husband Emilio of Hayden, Miranda Self and husband Shannon of Cullman, Jessica Penner and husband Glenn of Fayetteville, N.C. and Mary Catherine Mays and husband Andrew of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren, Riley Salter, Tyler Dolbeer, Ashley Dolbeer, Katelyn Dolbeer, Will Sahurie, Andrew Sahurie, Carolyn Elizabeth Sahurie, Luke Self, Logan Self, MaryEllen Self, Abigail Penner and Ezra Penner; six brothers, Dennis Jett, Travis Jett, Eugene Jett, Bobby Ray Jett, Hoyt Jett and Dwight Jett; and two sisters, Flora Nell Gregg and Glenda Thompson.
