McMeans, Emerson to wed
Butch and Sharon McMeans of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaime McMeans, to Brandon Emerson, son of Mark and Cam Emerson of Somerville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Motter of Athens and Reba McMeans and the late Petty McMeans of Tanner. She is a graduate of Falkville High School and Athens State University. She is employed by Limestone County Board of Education at Tanner High School.
The future groom is the grandson of Rev. and Mrs. D. A. Emerson of Arab and Rev. and Mrs. Dewitt Crowe of Somerville. He is the great-grandson of Inez Crowe of Decatur.
He is a 1998 graduate of Brewer High School and attended Alabama A &M University 1998-2002 on a football scholarship. He is employed by the Stuart Irby Company in Decatur.
The wedding will be Nov. 17 at Round Island Baptist Church in Tanner.
Hudson, Brown exchange vows
Mary Anna Hudson of Tuscumbia and Cullen James Brown were married Aug. 4, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church of Tuscumbia.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nelson Hudson of Tuscumbia.
The groom is the son of Shannion Brown and Mary Marquart.
Rev. Dr. Randall Edward Thompson performed the ceremony. The sanctuary flowers were lilies, pink gerbera daisies and roses in pinks and ivory mixed with greenery.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory strapless A-line gown with gathered tulle and asymmetrical beaded gold corded lace with a chapel train and matching fingertip veil.
Sarah Valpueta of Winston-Salem, N.C, was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Amanda Smith Alexander of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Amber Beemon of Florence and Beth Puhr of San Antonio, Tex. They wore bronze, strapless gowns featuring long pickup skirts with ivory sashes.
The grooms' father was best man.
Bill Walker of Oxford, Miss., Rand Harris of Tuscaloosa and Joseph Hudson of Tuscaloosa were groomsmen.
Josh Driggers of Hartselle, Will Summerford of Hartselle, Rogers Hudson and Walker Hudson of Florence were ushers.
Music was provided by Brian Beck on organ, Joseph Hudson, brother of the bride, on piano and vocals and Ashley Robinson of Tuscaloosa, vocals.
A reception followed at Locust Hill in Tuscumbia following the wedding. Guests enjoyed dancing to music provided by The Usual Suspects.
After a honeymoon, the couple is at home in Tuscaloosa.
A rehearsal party was hosted by the groom's parents at Dale's Steak House in Florence.
