Hartselle merchants will jump start the Christmas holiday season Sunday, Nov. 4 with a Christmas Open House and Taste of Hartselle trade promotion.
Stores throughout town will be open from 1 – 6 p.m. to accommodate early Christmas shoppers. The Taste of Hartselle, featuring complimentary finger foods donated by several local businesses, will take place in The Depot auditorium from 2 – 5 p.m.
The two events will officially kick off Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce's "Hartselle for the Holidays" promotion.
"The stores are glittering with holiday decorations and new fall and winter merchandise," Chamber of Commerce President Susan Hines said. "This is a good time for holiday shoppers to come to town with their gift lists and do some early Christmas shopping. It's also a good opportunity for merchants to put their best foot forward while they have a lot of lookers in their stores. Plus, there's free entertainment and good food."
A new event this year is a Christmas drawing for Hartselle Shopping Dollars. It will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. Tickets for the drawing will be given away with purchases made at participating stores. In addition, the Chamber of Commerce will give away a ticket to anyone who makes a request in person. The shopping dollars will be redeemable at any participating store.
Many of the stores observing open house will offer door prizes and refreshments.
