Fisher, Morris exchange vows
Shelly Amanda Fisher of Birmingham and formerly of Hartselle and Samuel Vaughn Morris Jr. of Bessemer were wed Sept. 1, 2007, at 6 p.m. in Madelyn’s in the Grove in Athens. Rev. Dorothy Steele officiated the service.
The bride is the daughter of Greg and Anita Fisher of Athens, formerly of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Sam and Margaret Morris of Bessemer.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore an ivory and champagne satin A-line halter gown with a beaded lace bodice, gathered waste details and a split back that flowed into a chapel train. She wore a fingertip veil of ivory silk illusion sprinkled with crystals and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white hydrangeas, white roses and calla lilies.
Matron of honor was Emily Fisher Bennett, the bride’s sister, of Helena. Bridemaids were Andrea Slaten French of Hartselle and Chrissy Jensen Harper of Helena. Bridesmaids wore strapless tea-length gowns of periwinkle blue organza and carried bouquets of pink and white hydrangeas.
Justin Yarbrough of Hoover was best man. Aaron Morris of Bessemer, the groom’s brother, was groomsman.
Music was provided by violinist Hannah Blevins of Falkville.
A reception was held at Madelyn’s in the Grove. The wedding was directed by Nannette Miller and Patty Lovelady and Erin Wilson assisted with the reception.
After a honeymoon trip to Destin, Fla. the couple will reside in Bessemer.
