Nov. 8, 1957-Local residents wanting to register to vote are now out of luck for awhile. The Morgan County Board of Registrars concluded a 30-day signup session late yesterday afternoon and will not meet again for several weeks.
Nov. 9, 1957-MCHS took a decisive win over Rogersville there tonight. The score was 31-6. Actually the game was more lopsided than this, Tiger subs played much of the game. Jimmy Mayfield scored the first MCHS TD. Tommy Ed Roberts scored the second. Mayfield also scored the third, fourth, and fifth TDs. Only one of the PAT attempts was good. Defensive star for Morgan High were Armand Hammer, David Buckelew, Sherman Burch, and Jerry Atkins.

Dr. John Sherrill, a prominent Birmingham physician with strong Hartselle ties, was in charge of the clinic. Coordinating arrangements for Hartselle are Mrs. C. I. Lee and Mrs. Jimmy Yarbrough.
Nov. 14, 1957-S. L. Sherrill, age 90, died early this morning at his home on East Main Street. Mr. Sherrill was an active, unapologetic Republican at a time when the GOP had a very small number of adherents in this area. Few people were interested in hearing conservative ideas.
