Even though final plans for the replacement of metal awnings downtown haven’t been approved by the Alabama Department of Transportation, the probability that the project will be under construction early next year is still good, according to Jeff Johnson, Hartselle’s Department of Development director.
Johnson was asked where work will be done first and how long it will take to complete the project.
He said sidewalk repairs, where needed, would be done on a scheduled that is consistent with the replacement of the awnings.
Johnson also pointed out that it would take at least a year for plans for the second phase of the project to be completed and approved by the state.
