Tucked away in a non-descript building out in the country just outside Hartselle, a group of artists, writers, animators and actors are looking to make entertainment history.
Studio 125 is owned by Scott Stewart, a Los Angeles, Calif. transplant, who grew up in the entertainment industry. Stewart’s business is active in all aspects of entertainment, including production of cartoons and children’s television programming.
To work at Studio 125 is to be busy. Production is currently under way on an animated series, “Me and Jessie D” and two children’s shows, “Kids World Kids” and “Come Swing With Me.”
Studio 125’s offices include state-of-the art animation equipment operated by artists from as far away as Canada and California. The studio also employs some local people, including writer Gary Bonnett and graphic designer Shea Abstance, both of Hartselle.
All of Studio 125’s animators carry impressive credentials, including some who have worked on Disney productions and shows such as “Jimmy Neutron.”
Studio 125 employs some 35 people and, if all things go as planned, hopes to expand to more than 100.
It specializes in family entertainment and aims to introduce Christian messages in mainstream media.
Stewart said he’s glad to he located in Hartselle and hopes the success of the shows will help him give back to the community.
