Extra trash will be picked up this week

Hartselle sanitation workers will pickup items outside the trash cans this week, as long as the trash is bagged and left next to the bin. Cardboard boxes can also be left next to the bin for pickup.
City workers traditionally require all items for pickup to be placed inside the trash cans.
Last week’s schedule of garbage pickup was changed due to the holiday. The city workers will follow a similar schedule for Christmas and New Years holidays. Monday garbage service will be picked up on Wednesday, Tuesday on Thursday and Wednesday on Thursday or Friday. No yard waste will be picked up Christmas or New Years weeks.
Like last year, the city will allow for items to be placed outside but adjacent to the bin in the week following Christmas.
