Funeral for Mable Ballew Steakley, 85, of Fayetteville, Tenn., was Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a. m. at Berryhill Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville.
Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Hartselle.
Mrs. Steakley died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, of Parkinson’s disease at Donelson Care Center in Fayetteville, Tenn. She was a long-time resident of New Market and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She retired in 1980 from the Newspaper Printing Corporation, having worked for The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville for 27 years and previously for The Huntsville Times.
She is survived by a son, Forest Steakley of New Market; a daughter, Rose Barnes and husband Roy of Hazel Green; a grandson, Anthony Barnes of Nashville; a granddaughter, Stephanie Taylor and husband Brad of Nashville; and two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Madison Taylor.
