Funeral for Ralph Murphy, 80, of Hartselle was Monday, Nov. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Penn officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Murphy died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Morgan County to Ellis Murphy and Eva Thompson Murphy. He was retired from Monsanto Company. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Murphy of Hartselle; a son, Terry Michael Murphy and wife Sally of Hartselle; two sisters, Lucille Burch of Memphis, Tenn. and Alma Blackerby of Bessemer; two granddaughters, Angela Murphy and Michele Berry; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Berry.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Sivley, Jerald Wiley, Horace Owens, Chris Wallace, Barry Murphy and Mickey Wallace. Honorary pallbearers were Britt Murphy, Joe Murphy, Donald Wiley, Shawn Berry and Tommy Wallace.
