Funeral for C. Dwight Hooper, 76, of Danville will be Thursday (today), Dec. 6, at 3:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, south of Danville, with the Rev. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Hooper died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Lawrence County to Harvey Carl Hooper and Marjorie Inez Posey Hooper. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hooper of Danville; two sons, Michael Hooper of Sedgwick, Kan. and Mark Hooper and wife Margaret of Decatur; two daughters, Traci Holladay and husband Gregg of Danville and Kim Vaughn and husband Brian of Snead; a sister, Nell Smith of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Keri Tucker, Ashley Holladay, Zachary Hooper, Rebecca Hooper, Kristoser Hooper, Olivia Hooper and Garrett Vaughn; and a great-grandchild, Ellison Tucker.
Pallbearers were Gregg Holladay, Brett Smith, Lee Smith, Dale Johnson, Larry Trotman and Keith Trotman.
