By Staff
Hartselle’s annual Christmas Parade will take place Thursday (today) at 7 p.m. in the downtown business district. Based on the theme “My Christmas Wish,” it will feature several handmade floats, marching bands and the official arrival of Santa Claus. He will bring up the rear riding atop the city’s No. 1 fire engine. He and his helpers will distribute candy to the kids.
The parade will form at the J.P. Cain Stadium parking lot beginning at 5 p.m. It will move North on Railroad Street, turn left when it reaches Main and turn left again when it reaches Corsbie Street. It will disband in the old Wal-Mart store parking lot.
Floats will compete for cash prizes totaling $500. The event is sponsored by Hartselle Kiwanis Club.
