Funeral for James Harold Lamon, 74, of Moulton will be Thursday (today), Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Moulton.
Visitation will precede the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
A military graveside service will follow at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Lamon died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Kellyton. He was a loving husband, father and friend and has a passion for living life to the fullest. He served 35 years in the U.S. Army Reserve with the 926th Engineers. He achieved the rank of command sergeant major and was a member of the 3rd Army National Rifle Team. He achieved the U.S. President’s 100 recognition and was retired as a district engineer with the Alabama Department of Transportation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Carol Lamon, a son, James R. Lamon, a daughter, Carolyn Howell, a brother and a sister.
He is survived by a son, Jim Lamon of Houston, Tex,; a daughter, Carolyn Howell of Birmingham; two stepsons, William Dyke and Elmer Dyke; a stepdaughter, Patti Feimster; a brother, Bobby Lamon; a sister, Betty Taylor; four grandchildren, Melissa Howell, Jaclyn Howell, Byron Lamon and Danielle Lamon; and seven great-grandchildren.
