A graveside service for Lavelle Pittard, 80, of Falkville was Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church, south of Hartselle, with the Rev. Larry McElroy officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
She died December 9, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in rural Morgan County near Hartselle on July 2, 1927, to Hattie Lott Armstrong and June C. Armstrong and was a recent resident of Falkville Health Care Facility.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother and a dutiful daughter. She was a Southern Baptist.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Terry Gilbert and Norman Gilbert; four grandchildren, Barbara, Kelly, Angie and Tyler Gilbert; and a great -grandson, Adam Gilbert.
