Falkville man arrested for pot

The discovery of more than two pounds of marijuana landed a Falkville man in jail during the holidays.
The Morgan County Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force and Falkville Police Department searched the home of Vadie Arwin Laney on 238 Dabbs Road in Falkville on Dec. 19. Police said they’d been investigating Laney for several years and recent information led to the arrest.
Laney, 71, is charged with trafficking in marijuana after two pounds and two ounces of the substance were found at his home. Agents also seized $556 and 30 firearms.
