History study helps HHS honors English students hone writing skills
Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer
What started out three months ago as a tough homework assignment has turned into a work of high accomplishment for Hartselle High School’s sophomore honors English students.
Students celebrated the completion of their assignment Dec. 4 as they opened hardbound scrapbooks filled with artistic renderings of their family history to parents, grandparents, faculty members and fellow students. Included were seven essays they wrote based in interviews conducted while the family history project was in the making.
Griffin said research was an important part of the project.
Scott Dukes carried his project a step further than his classmates. After he turned in his assignments in printed form he copied them onto a computer web site he created for that specific purpose.
