Hartselle knocks off Sparkman

Five Hartselle wrestlers finished a dual meet at Fort Payne with perfect records Thursday night.
Senior Dalton Nagle and juniors Kyle Davis and Ethan Hamilton all finished with 3-0 marks in the meet that featured teams from Fort Payne, Sparkman, Homewood and Gordon Lee, Ga.
Hartselle wrestled Fort Payne, Homewood and Sparkman in the five-team tournament.
Nagle went undefeated in matches in the 119-pound weight class, while Davis and Hamilton were unbeaten at 130 and 189 respectively.
Zach Hill, a junior, went 2-0 at 145, while Theo Dame won his only match at 160.
Daniel Filiatrault picked up two wins in three matches will competing in the 171-pound weight class.
Cody Anders went 1-1 in the 152-pound weight class, while Luke Chafee finished 1-1 in his matches in the 160-pound weight class.
Freshman Allen Durham added a win in the 125-pound weight division.
Also wrestling for Hartselle was Matt Watson, Kyle Lybarger and Garret Baldwin.
Hartselle will compete in the Raptor Invitational Jan. 5 in Ravenwood, Tenn.
The Tigers will return home Jan. 8 to host Hayden and Deshler in a tri-match.
