Funeral for Jackson Harold May, 82, of Hartselle was Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jack Garnett and Jerry DeBell officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. May died Thursday, Dec, 20, 2007. He was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Morgan County to A. J. and Della Holmes May. He served in France, Germany and Australia during World War II and was presented two Bronze Stars. He was retired from Joe Wheeler EMC and a member IBEW. He loved the guys he worked with. His son Andy May preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Vernie Lucille May of Hartselle; a son, Don May and wife Denise of Decatur; three daughters, Diane Brown and husband Curtis of Cullman, Martha Hitt and husband Don of Hartselle and Melba Thomas and husband Jackie of Danville; a stepson, Mike Maze and wife Patricia of Hartselle; a stepdaughter, Shirley M. Boyer and husband Jim of Hartselle; a brother Hoyett May of Hartselle; a sister, Dorothy Yancey of Tallahassee, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Roy Roberson, Tommie Newman, Paul Sapp, Kenneth Taylor, Ferrel Britt and Ken Boyer,
