A resolution in support of establishing a new industrial Park in the I-65 corridor south of Hartselle was approved unanimously by the Morgan County Commission at a regular meeting on Tuesday.
The same resolution was adopted by the Decatur City Council on Monday and by the Hartselle City Council Tuesday night. Copies have also been circulated to Priceville, Falkville, Somerville, Eva, Trinity and the Morgan County Port Authority for their consideration.
By approving the resolution, the commission granted its permission to incorporate a capital improvement cooperative district to be called the Morgan County Industrial Park and Economic Development Cooperative District; to approve the proposed form of certificate of incorporation for the district; and authorize the applicant to proceed with the incorporation of the district as provided by law.

District 2 Commissioner Ken Livingston said he felt Glasscock was a good fit for the job.
Nails said he anticipates having anticipates having resolutions approved by all nine of the county’s government entities, each of which will have a role to play in the project, by the end of this month.
Our next step will be to file incorporation papers, develop bylaws and elect officers of the board. After that we will be able to borrow money, acquire land and provide the infrastructure needed for development, he added.
