Gregory Wilson died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at his home in Pinson. A private memorial service for the family was held Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
He was born April 23, 1955, and graduated from Morgan County High School in Hartselle in 1973, where he was number “44” on the Hartselle Tiger Football team. He graduated with honor from Auburn University, Building Science in 1976 and was an avid Auburn Tiger football fan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia. He was a project manager at Amason General Contractors in Tuscaloosa.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Sandra Williams Wilson; two daughters, Lori McCracken and husband Jon Thomas of Dallas, Georgia and Jamie Godby and husband Tim of Alpharetta, Georgia; two grandchildren Ava and Ford McCracken; his parents, Mary Sue Joiner Nix and Alvin Nix of Grant and the late James William Wilson; a sister, Pamela Arnold of Smyrna, Tennessee; and two brothers, Jerome Wilson and wife Kim of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Brett Odom and wife Cathy of Huntsville.
