Funeral for Billy Dan Franks, 58, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jeff Alred and Walter Blackmon officiating.
Mr. Franks died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at his residence. He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was assigned to the 1st Marine Division 1st Recon BN Echo Company 2nd PLT. He was employed by MSCO Co. in Sheffield.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Franks of Hartselle; a son, Brian Douglas Franks of Sevierville, Tenn.; a daughter, Rebekah Lea Elkins and husband Taka and a granddaughter, Kaya Grace Elkins, all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a stepson, Casey Logan Goodwin of Hartselle; three sisters, Barbara Claunch and husband David of Sheffield, Loudee Smith and husband Steve of Muscle Shoals and Shelia Wright and husband Johnny of Tuscaloosa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jake Smith, Forrest Smith, Jeb Smith, Whit Wright, James Farley, Harold Liverett, Brett Butler and Royce Glasgow.
