Funeral for Dorothy A. Pruitt, 73, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Sparkman and Dr. Ken Chapman officiating. Burial was in Burningtree Cemetery.
Mrs. Pruitt died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Parkway Medical Center. She was a faithful Christian and an active member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary for Mutual of Omaha for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ed Pruitt of Hartselle; two daughters, Rhonda Chapman and husband Ken of Tuscaloosa and Penny Sparkman and husband Randy of Hartselle; a grandson, Jeremiah Chapman of New Mexico; a granddaughter, Katharine Sparkman of Hartselle; a Brazilian granddaughter, Lorena Cabral of Atlanta; a niece, Resa K. Erwin and nephew, Louis Jackson Keel, both of Birmingham; and many beloved friends.
Pallbearers were Ken Chapman, Randy Sparkman, Jeremiah Chapman, Charles Ray, Ed Huggins and Gary Graham.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Beaver, Harold Thompson, Bobby Ray Halbrooks and the men of the Earnest Ray Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Hartselle First United Methodist Church.
