Funeral for Neomia Waddell Thomas, 97, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Earl Holt and Harold Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Thomas died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Almer H. Thomas, Feb. 6, 1999, a son, Ross Thomas, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Thomas, four brothers, John, Albert, Claude and Oscar Waddell, and four sisters, Maude Pruitt, Bessie Bolan, Lula Kent and Katie Hutson. She is survived by a son, Harold Thomas and wife Margot of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Junior Waddell of Falkville; three sisters, Hattie Prince of Hartselle, Eunice McKenzie of Fultondale and Erline Ballew of Hartselle; five grandchildren, Michael Everitt, Ellen Holliday and husband John, Mike Thomas and wife Phyllis, Susan Austin and husband Don and Lisa Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, David Clark, MacKenzie Thomas, Olivia Thomas, Caroline Thomas, Jake Austin, Gary Holliday and Elizabeth Holliday.
Grandsons and nephews were pallbearers.
