Alvera Slocomb

Alvera Slocomb, 76, of Hartselle died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date with Laughlin Service Funeral Home assisting.
Mrs. Slocomb was born July 5, 1931. She was a former secretary for Life of Georgia Insurance Company and Cohen Insurance Company. She enjoyed sewing, camping and cooking and was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her husband, Deotis Slocomb of Hartselle; two sons, Mark Slocomb of Hartselle and Brian Slocomb of Sherman, Tex.; a daughter, Cynthia McCutcheon of Kimberly; three sisters, Marie Slocomb of Birmingham, Gaynell Rowden of Huntsville and Patricia Allen of Columbiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
