A graveside service for Anna Shepherd Napier, 93, of Hartselle was Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Alan Queen officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Napier died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Falkville Healthcare Center. She was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Harlan, Ky. to Abe Shepherd and Jane Clem Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Denver Carl Napier, who died in 1988. Together, they pastored Christian Churches in Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and Alabama.
She was always active in church work, especially vacation Bible school and other children’s ministries. She was a member of First Christian Church of Hartselle and Bethel Homemakers Club. She loved being with her family and loved sports.
She is survived by a son, Jack Napier and wife Phyllis of Hartselle; a grandson, Jack Napier Jr. and wife LaVonda of Hartselle; a granddaughter, Debra Ann Queen and husband Alan of Hartselle; and two great-grandchildren, Ross Napier and Wilder Queen, both of Hartselle.
