Hartselle stuffs Arab

Hartselle sent off its senior class with a pair of impressive victories over Arab Friday night in the Pettey Center.
The Tigers beat Arab 78-44 in the boys game after putting on a torrid shooting display in the third quarter that broke the game wide open.
Hartselle led 23-19 in the second quarter and went on a 21-3 run to stretch the lead to 44-22.
And the Tigers weren’t about to stop there.
Hartselle led 61-26 at one point in the second half.
Jeremy Roper scored 18 points to pace Hartselle, while Rodney Stansberry added 15 points. Sam Fleischman and Micah Host both chipped in with 10 points in the win.
Jared Myers scored 13 points for Arab.
Roper, Alex Brown, Host, Brad Borden, Wilder Queen and John Alan Landers were all honored before their final home games.
Hartselle improved to 17-13 overall with the victory over the Knights.
Hartselle 62, Arab 32
Jessi Smith, playing in her final home game of her career, scored 17 points as Hartselle broke away from Arab in a 30-point victory.
Alex Holmes added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Tigers.
Angela Henderson led Arab with eight points.
The Lady Tigers opened up a 45-22 at the end of the third quarter after outscoring Arab 10-1 and never looked back.
Smith, Kaitlin Faulkner, Lauren Dye, Anna Reeves and Heather Speegle were all honored following their final home games.
Hartselle improved to 17-11 with the victory.
The Lady Tigers will play in the Class 5A, Area 13 tournament this week.
