Funeral for Ollie Jewell Puckett Buckelew, 96, of Massey was Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Compton officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Buckelew died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008. She was born June 29, 1911, to William Armistead Puckett and Barbara Annie Patton Puckett. She was a longtime member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in WMU for many years. She was a charter member of Massey Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Buckelew; four brothers, Sid Puckett, Frank Puckett, Herman Puckett and Limuel Puckett; and three sisters, Jessie Puckett Blankenship, Willie Puckett Collins and Bessie Puckett.
She is survived by a son, Billy Joe Buckelew and wife Gene of Hartselle; a grandson, Patrick Joe Buckelew and wife Kimberly of Massey; a great-grandson, Hudson Quinn Buckelew of Massey; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were nephews and friends.
Donations may be made to Mt. Nebo Baptist Church or to the First United Methodist of Hartselle.
