Donations needed to finish youth dormitory

Hartselle Camp Meeting Association is at a standstill in its efforts to complete a 90-bed youth dormitory before the next camp meeting June 20-27 and is appealing to the public for financial help.
When completed, the dormitory will be valued at $350,000.
Cain said letters have been mailed to Camp Association members seeking their help. They include a financial gift card and a self-addressed envelope.
A state-of-the-art meeting room, complete with a staging and sound system and two bathrooms, will accommodate150 people.
Cain said the work is already paying off.
A work weekend is scheduled at the campgrounds March 28-29, beginning at noon on Friday. Among other things, worlers will be constructing new bunk beds for the dorm. A pledge of $150 pays for the cost of materials for one bunk bed for two persons. Volunteers are asked to bring general hand tools, work gloves and cleaning supplies.
The dormitory already has a name. The Camp Meeting board of directors unanimously voted Jan. 22 to name it the Harry and Margaret Anne Puckett Youth Dormitory. This honor recognizes a couple that have committed their lives in service to the camp meeting.
The 109th Hartselle Camp meeting, a nondenominational religious event will be led by evangelists Phil Waldrep and Mike Pope. Other leaders include Michael Mason, Bible study leader; Junior Hill, guest evangelist; Ron bean, music leader; Ellen Bean, coordinator of the platform musicians; and Cain, leader of youth and college students. SIFAT (Servants In Faith And Technology) will serve as missionaries.
