Earl Shands

Funeral for Earl Shands, 80, of Huntsville, formerly of Hartselle, was Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tenn.
Burial was in Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro.
Mr. Shands died Feb. 13, 2008, at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville. He was a native of Wayne County, Tenn., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW and the DAV. He was a retired sales manager.
He is survived by his wife, Delphine Shands; three daughters, Sharon Jones of Cookeville, Tenn., Olivia Cothron and husband Ritter of Columbia, Tenn. and Angela Berry of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; a son, Joseph Shands and wife Lynne of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Renshaw of Tucson, Ariz; two brothers, Charles Shands and Johnny Shands, both of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
