Funeral for Jack Grimes, 82, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), February 21, at 2:30 p.m. at Crestwood Baptist Church in Booneville, Miss. with the Rev. Gene Grimes officiating.
Burial will be in the Tuscumbia Baptist Church Cemetery in Booneville, Miss. with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Crestwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Grimes died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a plumber/pipe fitter, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He had a special love for horses and tractors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine Poteet Grimes.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry Grimes and wife Carolyn of Hartselle and Jim Grimes and wife Darlene of Booneville, Miss.; a daughter, Kaye Grimes Eldridge of Booneville, Miss.; a sister, Mae McCarter of Taft, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Bill and Jane Orr and David and Elaine Hopson
Pallbearers will be David Hopson, Bill Orr, Allen Grimes, Larame Eldridge, Bob Franks and Max L. Harris.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jarod Grimes, Brad Beasley, Cecil Ross and Leroy McCarter.
