DA part of statewide anti-meth campaign
By Staff
Morgan County District Attorney Bob Burrell is among those working with the governor on a new statewide initiative to stop methamphetamine use.
Gov. Riley kicked off the campaign last week in Gadsden. It targets teenagers and young people and educates them on the dangers of methamphetamine use.
The campaign includes television spots showing the effects of methamphetamine use.
Burrell said the campaign hits close to home with law enforcement across the state. Some 80 percent of district attorney’s caseloads are meth and drug related.
