Good things are in store for the William Bradford Huie Library of Hartselle thanks to a $26,255 grant from the Alabama Public School and College Education Fund.
Librarian Emily Love received word of the grant’s approval on Monday and she and Mayor Dwight Tankersley were presented a letter of confirmation by State Senator Arthur Orr the following day.
The money, which should become available in about two months, will be used to provide the library with wireless internet access, purchase cubicles and chairs for eighth computer stations, purchase a display case for the Archives and replace carpet with hardwood flooring.
Love said she and the mayor learned about the grant program from Senator Orr earlier this year and only had a couple of days to meet the deadline for applications.
