A new glass enclosure at the entrance to offices occupied by Commission Chairman John Glasscock and his staff is being challenged by District 4 Commissioner Stacy George.
George asked Glasscock why he had the enclosure built and questioned his authority to do so without first putting it on the commission agenda for consideration.
George said he didn’t think it was necessary.
District One Commissioner Jeff Clark cited a recent incident where a man walked into a Social Security office across the street from the courthouse and stabbed someone.
District 2 Commissioner Ken Livingston agreed.
George added that he felt the reason for adding the enclosure was to make it difficult for the media to get in side and find out what is going on.
Several items were acted on by the governing body, They include the following:
Authorized the chairman to advertise for bids to purchase a commercial lawn mower for Huskey Park in District 4.
