Funeral for Roy E. Smith, 78, of Hartselle was Monday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Fort Payne with the Rev. Willey Wooten officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery,
Mr. Smith died Friday, March 14, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Jackson County to Lewis Smith and Addie Mary Ragen Smith. He is survived by three sons, Ronald J. Smith of Hartselle, Donald L. Smith of Jackson, Miss. and Charles L. Smith of Birmingham; three daughters, Wanda Moody and Grace Lindsey, both of Hartselle, and Dorothy Hall of Fort McCoy, Fla.; a brother, Hubert Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Carolyn Allison of Guntersville, Laura Carter of Tullahoma, Tenn. and Addie Ruth Sutton of California; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
