Funeral for Howard Emanuel Champion, 65, of Hartselle was Tuesday, March 25, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilson officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Champion died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at his residence. He was a certified welder out of Local 377. He was an industrial maintenance mechanic who retired in 2002 from Goodyear as a Dunlop Tire Co. employee. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, especially Harleys. He enjoyed rides with friends and especially his best friend, Peggy, who was always by his side. His best love was for his daughter, Susan, and her family (Stephen, Shelby and Sawyer). Grandchildren were always his best medicine. He was a veteran, a Mason in the Nunn-Oden Masonic Lodge and belonged to the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Murphree Champion of Hartselle; a daughter, Susan Champion White and husband Stephen of Trussville; his mother, Jewel Champion of Hartselle; and two grandchildren, Shelby and Sawyer White.
