James Clinton ‘Clint’ Stockett

Funeral for James Clinton “Clint” Stockett, 69, of Marietta, Ga., was Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta with Dr. Randall L. Mickler officiating and Patterson &Sons Funeral Home of Marietta directing.
Burial was in Kennesaw Memorial Cemetery in Marietta.
Mr. Stockett died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. He was a member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. On June 11, 1988, he married Nancy Stephenson Whitten. He was an historian, patriot and a collector of antiques and beautiful things. After driving tractor-trailers and attended the University of Cincinnati, he worked for IBM for 35 years. Not being the type for retirement, he worked for and owned several job placement companies before working for Frederick J. Hanna and Assoc. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Master Mason and a member of The Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Michael.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Stockett of Marietta, Ga.; five daughters, Megan Stockett and Clare Stockett, both of Marietta, Ga., Valerie Riedel and husband Matt of Halethorpe, Md.; Patricia Bowman and husband Shannon of Milton, Fla. and Katharine Nemarcut and husband Keith of Wilmington, N.C.; three sons, Colin Stockett, Brian Stockett and Greg Stockett, all of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren; his mother, Adelle Stockett of Annapolis, Md.; two sisters, Anne Gallagher and husband Bob of Germantown, Md. and Lois Lannin and husband Bill of Williamsburg, Mich.; and two brothers, John Stockett of Baltimore, Md. and Mark Stockett and wife Nattipa of Annapolis, Md. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
