Pooches enjoy park event
Editor:
On Saturday, March 22, Hartselle Parks and Recreation held its first annual Easter Dog Bone Hunt and Pet Adoption. There were approximately fifty dogs and their families in attendance. Awards were given in six different categories. The Ugliest God Award was given to Lucy. The Cutest Dog was given to Charlie. Jake and Lula took the prizes for Largest and Smallest Dog respectively. The Best Easter Costume was worn by Prince Ducky. The dog finding the most bones was Ruti.
Lots of great prizes were donated by area businesses. Petsmart went above and beyond by donating gifts for each dog. Other much appreciated gifts were donated by: Pat’s Poodle Parlor, Banfield Pet Hospital, Morgan Farmer’s Co-op, Petco, Pet Masters, Morgan County Animal Shelter, North Alabama Cat and Bird Clinic, Pearson Animal Hospital, Ashwander Animal Clinic, Animal Tracks Veterinary Hospital, Dishman Animal Clinic, and Hartselle Kiwanis.
Hartselle Parks and Recreation extends a sincere thank you to each of these businesses for making the event possible. We would also like to say thank you to Parenting Children of Different Species (PCDS) for bringing the dogs out for the adoption. Last but certainly not least, we send a big thanks out to all of those bringing their dog out to the hunt. We hope to see you all again next year.
Thanks again,
Hartselle Parks and Recreation
