Funeral for Dr.Mitchel David Bean Sr., 68, of Moulton was Wednesday, April 2, at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Whitley and the Rev. Todd Winsor officiating.
Burial was in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Leoma, Tenn. at 2 p.m.
Dr. Bean died Sunday, March. 30, 2008, at his residence. He was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Michigan. He was a pastor and an educator. He pastored churches in Michigan for more than 50 years and was the founder of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Detroit, Mich.
He is survived by his wife, Augzelle Bean of Moulton; two sons, Mitchel David Bean Jr. of Plymouth, Mich. and Ronald Timothy Bean of Upper Peninsula, Mich.; a daughter, Deborah Kay Bean of Moulton; two sisters, Dr. Neomi Freeman of Monroe, Mich. and Betty Dabbs of Sparta, Mich; and six grandchildren.
