Hartselle routs Austin

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers (15-6) scored five runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth to defeat Austin’s Lady Black Bears 8-2 at home Monday night. All of their runs came after Austin (11-11) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
The Lady Tigers posted 11 hits in one of their better offensive performances of the season. Anna Beth Hall led the way with a pair of doubles. Kristy Pevahouse had a double and a single, Hayden Watts and Breanna Riley each singled twice, and Sara Lang, Chandler Orr and Alex Paulsen each singled.
Austin’s Sarah Corn, Ashton Cowan and Tara May each had a single.
Riley was the winning pitcher. She went the distance, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out 14.
Hartselle 10, Brewer 0
Hartselle (15-6) grabbed a three-run lead in the first inning and never looked back as they hammered Brewer's Lady Patriots 10-0 in an area game March 25.
Kristy Pevahouse smashed back-to-back homers to account for six of Hartselle’s 10 runs. Five of her teammates also had hits. They were Hayden Watts with a pair of singles, Sara Lang with a double and Alex Paulsen, Kelsey Starr and Michel Fields each with a single.
Meagham Gray was the winning pitcher. She was a walk and a two-base hit away from pitching a perfect game. She allowed a walk and a double. She had six strikeouts.
