Funeral for Howard B. Anders, 85, of Hartselle was Tuesday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Ashley officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Anders died Saturday, Mar. 29, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born September 19, 1922, in Morgan County to James Dewey Anders and Sarah Ola Maze Anders. He was a member and deacon of Lebanon Baptist Church in Falkville and served with Company “C”151st Combat Engineers in World War II. He was a farmer, truck driver and mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margie B. Mitchell Anders of Hartselle; a son, Michael R. Anders of Hartselle; a daughter, Sheila Webster Pyle of Hartselle; two brothers, Herbert Anders of Hillsboro and Harold Anders of Hartselle; three sisters, Lillian Collins of Hillsboro, Sarah Inez Sims of Hartselle and Jean Palmer of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Courtney Anders, Kristi Webster and Dakota Webster.
Pallbearers were Bud Burchell, Jim Burchell, Bill Dobbs, Bobby Rhoads, Eugene Speegle and Dakota Webster.
Honorary pallbearers were Hoyt Johnson, Doug Webster and deacons of Lebanon Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons or Hospice of the Valley.
