Funeral for Pete Vinson, 81, of Hartselle will be Friday, Apr. 11, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dewitt Crow officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday (today), from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Vinson died Monday, Apr. 7, 2008, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Morgan County to Curtis Cleveland Vinson and Bertha Lee Woodall Vinson. He served in the U. S. Navy and was preceded in death by his wife, Modeen, a daughter, Anita Fuller, his parents, Curtis and Bertha Vinson, and a grandson, Tracy Lee Wunch.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Vinson and wife Janice of Decatur, Paul Waters and wife Pat of Hartselle and Hillard Reeves and wife Jamielle of Falkville; four daughters, Brenda Hicks of Decatur, Irene Wunch and husband Tom of Falkville, Sue Bentley and husband Dennis of Cullman and Kathy Ide and husband George of Florida; two sisters, Maggie Blevins of Florida and Mildred Sams of Falkville; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
