Joe Wheeler EMC elects officers

Joe Wheeler EMC recently held its 71st annual meeting at its facilities in Trinity. This year, trustees representing District 4, District 5 and District 6 were up for election. In District 4, incumbent Jimmie Halbrooks was unopposed and received 3,720 votes. In District 5 incumbent O.B. Owens was re-elected and received 2,605 votes compared to Roger Keenum who received 1,834 votes. In district 6, the membership elected Charles Segars to represent them on the board. Segars received 2,160 votes and incumbent Rita Sims received 2,156 votes.
The Board of Trustees held a reorganizational meeting immediately after the annual meeting adjourned. At this meeting Pearl Jackson Green was elected president of the board, Ray Long was elected vice president and Charles Teague was elected secretary-treasurer.
