Hartselle man charged in assault

A Hartselle man is charged with second degree assault following an altercation that sent two to the hospital with injuries.
Kacey Wayne Hall, 27, of 311 Minor Hill Road, was arrested April 25 in connection with an April 14 incident in Decatur. Police said Hall had a verbal altercation with a female friend while they were visiting friends in Decatur. The woman slapped Hall, who in turn struck her with a large ash tray, causing a cut in her mouth. She ran away and her boyfriend, Anthony Brown, approached Hall. The two argued and Hall later allegedly stabbed Brown in the stomach with a pocket knife. The homeowners forced Hall to leave the home.
The female and Brown were both transported to Decatur General Hospital where they were treated and released.
Hall is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $750 bond.
